Success is not Happiness or Success

I am watching a lot of videos about success not being happiness or success. I’ll share some of them below.

In life, we are told to have certain goals, use them as a measuring stick for how well we are faring in life. We all want more. But I do not believe success is happiness. If it were, we would not have so many depressed rich people out in the world! I once was convinced when I lost a certain number of pounds I would be completely satisfied and lost the weight, but I am not completely satisfied with my life right now!

I think the reason success is not happiness or success is because your definition of success is always changing. It has no clear end. Let’s say your goal in life is to buy a big house, you reach the goal, but then you find out you have to buy furniture, perhaps a television to amuse yourself with, and other things to make you feel completely comfortable with the house and secure! Your goals have changed! In my opinion the concept of success is akin to a hamster wheel! I believe we all always have something we wish we could change about our lives and that is why we are never satisfied!
